Abigail Ramsay is an actress, facilitator, co-caretaker, writer, and arts project manager.
In spring of 2024, she created her own organization around the work she and some awesome youth were creating through the Tet Ansanm Leadership Group for Girls at Flanbwayan Haitian Literacy Project since 2022 – TurningWheel Collective.
2018-2020, she lived in her ancestral home, Jamaica, on a Fulbright and Embassy grants, where she created the predecessor to TWC – Downtown Girls Theatre Collective, uniting girls from three neighborhoods in Downtown Kingston, Jamaica.
As an actor her recent roles have been: Andromache in the Theater Three Collaborative (NYC)/ Persona Theatre (Greece) collaboration “Troy Too” (HERE); Cynthia Cooper’s “I was a Stranger Too” (St. Paul, MN).
Ramsay’s recent writings: Essay “In the Beginning, Beginning” was published in Heart Beating Beneath the Earth, an 84 page book featuring photographs by artist Jann Rosen-Queralt. “You Win” in the Marcel Broodthaers’ Open Letters exhibition in Harlem.
Her arts project management path started in 2020 in Kingston, Jamaica, working for a place making entity that created spaces for artists in Downtown Kingston. There she was able to draw upon decades of arts management experience under one title. Two years later, she had the pleasure of project managing the Roots of the Spirit Healing and Joy Retreat for Black and Indigenous Women.
